Comparing specificities of two anti-TGM2 antibodies

In this application note, we put our combined protein and peptide microarray workflow to the test by comparing a mouse monoclonal and a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against human transglutaminase 2. The side-by-side data expose differences in specificity undetected by standard Western/IHC assays: 

  • The rabbit pAb bound unrelated proteins and failed to recognize canonical TGM2 isoform.
  • The mouse mAb recognized a single N-terminal motif with seven conserved residues.
  • Combined HuProt™ and PEPperCHIP® Microarray workflow provides residue-level specificity data, far beyond functional assays.

Frequently asked questions


How much sample is needed to perform HuProt™ and PEPperCHIP® assays?

For HuProt™ microarrays, 5 - 30 µg antibody or 10 - 50µL serum or plasma.
For PEPperCHIP® microarrays, 5 - 20 µg antibody or 10 - 40µL serum or plasma.


What types of samples can be analyzed?

Both microarrays are compatible with serum or plasma from different species, antibodies of different isotypes, or small proteins.


How long does a typical project take?

Standard turnaround is 5-6 weeks from sample receipt to data delivery.


I'm only interested in protein screening with the HuProt™ microarrays. Is this possible?

Yes! If you're located in Europe or Brazil, we can also offer the HuProt™ Human Proteome Microarrays or perform your sample analysis in-house.
